The Athelas Executive Team have made it our mission to sustain Athelas long-term and become less reliant on government funding.  Partnerships with area businesses are critical to our success.  It is imperative that we maintain the highest quality services for the individuals we serve, as well as outreach services for the community.

Civitan International is a network of volunteer service clubs, with more that 40,000 total members across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.  The worldwide mission of Civitan is to build good citizenship by providing a volunteer organization of clubs dedicated to serving the individual and community needs, with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.

Athelas partnered with the newest Civitan Club in Howard County to assist with our fundraising efforts and in our mission to provide the best quailty care possible to the individuals we serve.

A Can Can Make a difference is the largest free food distribution center in Maryland, feeding the hungry by the thousands.  With their volunteer force of hundreds they serve many different agencies, including shelters, soup kitchens, churches and agency pantries.

Athelas has partnered with A Can Can Make a Difference to help reduce cost by supplying food to our Residential Homes and helping to feed families of our staff in need.

It is the vision of the volunteers at Fidos For Freedom to increase the quality of life and provide companionship to members of the local community through specially trained service dogs, hearing dogs and therapy dogs.

Volunteers and their canine companions make regular visits to Athelas Day Program sites to provide the individuals we serve with the therapy of unconditional love and companionship.

Rebuilding Together is the nation's leading nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable home ownership and revitalize neighborhoods by providing extensive rehabilitation and modification services to those in need at no cost to those served. With the help of citizen volunteers and corporate sponsors like Honeywell, Rebuilding America Howard County has dedicated time, materials and manpower for two years running to revitalize Athelas homes and facilities.

Athelas Institute, Inc., in partnership with The Community College of Baltimore County’s (CCBC) Center for A.C.C.E.S.S., provides a program for adult individuals with intellectual, emotional, and physical disabilities. The program provides these individuals with basic education courses as well as vocational preparation, life skills training, and creative arts experience.  Courses are offered at Athelas and on CCBC’s campus with college instructors who are subject matter experts and who have the knowledge about differential learning techniques to reach all audiences.
