The Community Residential Services Program offered by Athelas Institute, Inc. is designed to enhance the overall quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities and associated challenges living in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County. This is accomplished by promoting independence in daily living, personal care, and community life.
Services include, but are not limited to:
- Behavioral Supports
- Community Living Supports
- Daily Living Assistance (e.g.meal preparation, personal care,purchasing, and social and recreational planning).
- Medical Care Arrangements
- Medication Monitoring
- Quarterly Nursing Assessments
To be admitted into this program, the individual must have an intellectual disability, primarily mental retardation or sub-average functioning due to head injury prior to age 21, have potential to benefit from a community-based living program, be free of maladaptive behaviors, and be employed or engaged in meaningful daytime activities, supported employment, or volunteer work.
